佛光山一年一度的徒眾作品聯展，本次共收到179人476件作品，是歷年來人數與件數最多的一次。審查委員，除為我們選出每一類的前三名，也選出各類優選與佳作，今年總共有224件作品參與展出。從收件的踴躍程度，即可看出對創作越來越有心得，也越來越有信心，是一件值得歡喜的事。
除了人數與件數超越以往，評審委員一致表示，今年的創作內容無論在題材與媒材乃至技法上都更勝以往。其中繪畫類第一名作品〈佛陀成道圖〉，委員給予非常高的評價，甚至有藝術家看到後表示是他看過最好的佛畫作品；書法類第一名的〈大寶積經〉全篇字字工整，每一筆都可看到書者的恭敬與修持的定力，也讓委員深受感動。這些讚譽對徒眾來說都是一種鼓勵與肯定，也感謝委員對家師星雲大師「以文化弘揚佛法」的愛護與支持。
大師說人我無爭是世間最美的事。佛光山是在僧信二眾的努力下，所打造的佛國淨土。因此「和諧之美」就是佛光山之美。歡迎大家蒞臨參觀！
This
year’s annual FoGuang Shan MonasticArt Exhibition received a record high of
476 submissions from a total of 179 participants.
The panel ofjudges wereasked to select
the top three works from each category as well as awards for quality works and
honorable mentions. A total of 224 artworks are displayed at this year’s art
exhibition. From the high enthusiasm shown in entry submissions, it can be said
that the FoGuang Shan monasticshave grown in creativity and are more confident
in artistic expression. This is, indeed,
a happy event for us.
Other
than the record-breaking number of entries and item of works submitted, the
panel of judges reached a uniform consensus that thequality of art, usage of
media, and technique have all exceeded past standards. The artwork which won
the highest honor in the drawing category, "The Buddha’s
Enlightenment," received very high accolades from the board members. One
of the judges acclaimed it as the best Buddhist drawing he has ever seen. The
board members were also deeply moved by "The Great Treasures Collection
Sutra," the highest winner in the calligraphy category, where every character
was carefully and neatly written that one is able to observe the
artist’sreverence and spiritual life from each stroke. These praise all serve
to encourage and provide recognition to the artists. I would like to extend my
appreciation to the board members on the judging panel for all their
cherishment and support on the principle initiated by Venerable Master Hsing
Yun: Propagating Dharma through Culture.
In the
words of Venerable Master, harmony is the most beautiful thing in the world.
FoGuang Shan is Buddha's Pure Land on Earth created by the effort of lay and
monastic practitioners. Therefore, "Harmony is Beauty" is also
