Over the
past few years the “When Buddha Meets the Gods” Event has been held on the 25th of December. Deities of various
religions were invited to attend the event in the company of their respective
devotees. The event is a gathering where different religious faiths come
together as one to pray for world peace and religious harmony. Recently, the
scope of the event has widened to include more religions from different parts of
the world.
歷年來擇於國曆12月25日在佛陀紀念館舉辦「世界神明聯誼會」，邀請世界各個不同宗教與信眾一同來佛館聯誼，藉著各種信仰力量的凝聚，展現宗教和諧、祈願世界和平。世界神明聯誼會已臻國際化，與全世界各個宗教信仰接軌。
This
year, Catholic representatives from the Basilica of the National Shrine of Our
Lady Aparecida and Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Sao Paulo in Brazil, as well
as Taoist representatives from Jenjarom Ban Siew Keng Temple in Malaysia,
Islamic leaders from the East London Mosque from the United Kingdom, and Jewish
representatives from France will participate in the event. At the Love and
Peace Concert of Prayers, they will express their enthusiasm toward world
peace. This event will become a gathering where all religions can transcend borders
through love and peace.
今年巴西國家聖母院教堂、聖保羅大教堂的天主教代表、馬來西亞仁嘉隆萬壽宮道教代表、英國東倫敦清真寺伊斯蘭代表、法國猶太教代表也將蒞臨「愛與和平祈福音樂會」，展現追求世界和平的熱情、透過愛與和平，共創跨越國界、跨越宗教藩籬的宗教盛會。
