When you visit the Buddha Museum you will notice the black granite walls alongside the covered walkways that run all the way from the first pagoda to the very end. The walls are carved with many letters and a few pictures that most foreign tourists cannot understand nor read. Sprinkled among these Chinese letters is an occasional English name.

This long stretch of walls, collectively known as the Wall of Benefactors, is carved with the names of all the donors that sponsored the construction of the Buddha Museum. Apart from the names of a million individual donors (including large and small companies), there are also a thousand temples from around the world.

Every now and then, a section will feature excerpts from Venerable Master Hsing Yuns Roots of Wisdom calligraphed by famous artists in various scripts. Slotted within these names are smaller images of Avalokitesvara's hands forming various mudras or holding Dharma instruments such as vajras, vajra bells, and prayer beads.
