劉子璵竭塘取魚，放水將半，有二大鯉躍出堰外，復躍入，如是再三。子璵異之，因觀堰內有小鯉數百不得出，故二鯉往救，寧身陷死地不顧也。子璵嘆息，悉出堰放魚。

Liu Ziyu was discharging water from the fish pond to fetch fish and when he was half-way through, two large carps leapt out of the pond and then leapt in again three times. Ziju felt strange about it. He noticed that inside the pond there were several hundred small carps which could not get out, so the two carps went to their rescue and would place themselves in danger regardless of consequences. Ziyu heaved a sigh and released all fish from the pond.
